I'll be writing about the continuing degradation of our language, especially in written form. McLuhan himself forewarned in the 60s that we're heading towards an image-driven society and now English, in its proper usage, is quickly being left in the dust.
Points to consider:
1. How the masses unified under the written word; major upheavals
2. Diffusion of writing among masses
3. The improper past tense verbs: vanishing from existence
4. Lexicon of abbreviations and (urban) slang
5. Memes and overnight (viral) definitions
6. Decline in editing and proofreading
7. Future of communication; books go back to being elitist privilege
