omg. i'm on the titanic! lol. brb, i just felt a bump.

So how much have we actually changed, with the big flagship technological/ media developments, compared to our not so distant ancestors. If we're looking for the most concentrated expressions of the cultural values of yesteryear lets look to the disasters that pitted the values of the day against impending life and death and then lets wedge our modern technologies into historical accounts of this or that disaster/ event. Give the passengers on the titanic cellphones. Give maria antoinette a blog...or a dv camera and a youtube account. I'm open to suggestions of epic historical events that will provide the most revealing contrasts with new technologies, new media, thereby exposing in greater detail the way civilization and humanity has changed. Aside from being ridiculous, will we be able to get a better sense of how we have or haven't changed for better or worse.
